Ford extends its 'approved' scheme

Ford has extended 'approved' to include commercial vehicles, in a move that will define a new way to source pre-owned Ford vans and pick ups.

'Ford Approved' sees used Ford vehicles put through a rigorous 160-point quality verification to ensure that they will not disappoint their new owners.

Previously reserved for the manufacturer's passenger cars, the scheme has now been extended across the range.

To qualify for the sought after Ford Approved status, vans must be Ford models owned by the dealer, be less than five years old and have covered less than 100,000 miles.

They are then sold on a 14-day/500 mile exchange program, as well as with seven-day drive-away insurance.

A full service history, 12-month warranty, and 12-month Ford Roadside Assistance are also included with the Ford Approved status.

Andy Barratt, chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain commented: "Ford Approved offers commercial vehicle customers complete peace of mind. The Ford-backed scheme assures buyers that the vehicle they are purchasing is of suitable quality complete with warranty and roadside back-up."
