Ford Ka named as the car least likely to be stolen

The Ford Ka has been named as the car least likely to be stolen in research published by an insurance website.

A leading comparison site has said that not one of its customers claimed for theft on the model between 2004 and 2011, a statistic that helps the car to a theft rate of less than one in 5,000.

Security expert and former burglar Michael Fraser told the insurance site that there are many other cars that are likely to be taken by thieves.

"The cars that are much more likely to be targeted are the BMW 3.5, Jaguar XJ, Mercedes C Class, and the Range Rover Sport," he explained.

"These are sought after by car thieves as they are very fast, powerful, hold the road well and are built well. Protection on these vehicles will be high, so it's about getting hold of the keys."

Meanwhile, the Ford Mondeo driven by Daniel Craig as James Bond feature in an exhibition at Beaulieu's car museum next year.
