Ford marks 20 years of Champions League sponsorship

Ford recently used the Uefa Champions League final to mark 20 years of sponsorship with the competition.

The Blue Oval has been an official partner of Europe's premier football competion since its inception in the 1991-92 season.

To mark the occasion, the carmaker used the new B-Max to parade the trophy and also ran a penalty challenge.

More than 200 Ford cars were also used behind the scenes to ensure that this year's final, which took place at the Allianz Arena in Munich, ran as smoothly as possible.

In the weeks leading up to Saturday's (May 19th) dramatic events, Ford used the new B-Max to tour the trophy around the city.

The manufacturer claimed that the car's new Easy Access Door System made the B-Max the "perfect car for the job"

Roelant de Waard, vice-president, marketing, sales and service, Ford of Europe, commented: "The UEFA Champions League Final is the best of the best in terms of club football and it is the perfect place to showcase the ingenious B-Max."
