The use of security-enhancing features has helped propel Iveco to award-winning status at this year's British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards (BIVSA).

Truck and van maker of models such as the Iveco Daily, the vehicle maker took the Innovation Award at the ceremony for its component marking system, which was introduced in 2009.

All new Ivecos have been marked with information and the details of each vehicle are then recorded with the owner's information on the International Security Register, helping to reduce vehicle crime.

Commenting on the win, product director at Iveco UK Martin Flach said: "Iveco prides itself on being innovators within this industry and it is therefore a great pleasure and testament to our work to receive this Innovation award."

He added that the firm is committed to further improving security across its range of vehicles.

Iveco recently teamed up with TISS Security Systems to launch a custom-built anti-siphon device for its Daily and EcoDaily models.ADNFCR-3205-ID-19842572-ADNFCR
