Life size origami Nissan Juke created to celebrate the crossover's fifth birthday
As 5th birthday celebrations go, Nissan has just kicked the ball out of the park with the half-decade anniversary of the Juke.
The carmaker collaborated with a British paper artist to create full-scale Origami Juke to celebrate 5 years of the crossover, which has seen more than 70,000 sales in the UK alone and 700,000 across Europe.
Owen Gildersleeve hand built the intricate replica from paper to the exact dimensions of the current Juke.
The detailed sculpture took Gildersleeve more than 200 hours and saw him fold in excess of 2,000 pieces of paper.
Featuring the same bold cues as the production Juke, the paper model even has identical detailing on the wheel fenders lights and grill, adding to its real-life character.
Gildersleeve commented: "This was a great project to work on hard work but very rewarding. As a celebration piece it draws on so many influences, such as the origami focus inspired by Nissan's Japanese roots. Using so many individual pieces of paper to create the overall structure also represents the thousands of people who helped bring the Nissan Juke into reality and the thousands who continue to do so right here in the UK."
