New Volkswagen Tiguan given Match title

Posted by Craig Salter

Volkswagen's Match title, previously applied to models in its Polo, Golf and Touran ranges, is now to be worn by the Tiguan model, the manufacturer has announced.

The new Volkswagen will replace the SE model in the Tiguan range and offer drivers greater value and increased equipment levels, the manufacturer states.

Kit will include Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, parking assistance, climate control, a multifunction leather steering wheel and a touch-screen digital radio, along with the standard equipment such as a six-disc CD autochanger and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Safety measures fitted in the vehicle include six airbags, an antilock braking system and an electronic stabilisation programme.

The model is on sale from £22,110 with a choice of 1.4-litre and 2.0-litre engines.

In related news, Volkswagen has unveiled a whole host of new models this year, including the latest Touran and its energy-saving electric vehicle, the Golf blue-e-motion.
