Nissan continues impressive sales run

Nissan is finishing the year as it started with regard to strong sales figures.

The Japanese manufacturer has seen demand for its models increase over the year and this was still the case last month.

According to the company's latest data, November 2011s sales were 16 per cent up on the same month last year.

Across Europe, the firm shifted some 59,681 units last month - 8,000 more than last year - taking the year-to-date total to 637,500.

The firm has said the success can be attributed in part to strong demand for the Sunderland-built Qashqai and Juke crossover models.

Guillaume Cartier, vice-president of Sales Operations Europe at Nissan, said: Throughout the year we have seen our monthly sales trending significantly above 2010, and this has continued into November.

Although we recognise a great deal of additional effort will be needed to firmly establish Nissan as the leading Asian brand in Europe, 2011 has witnessed a step change in our performance and presence within the region as we push towards that goal.
