Petrol heads may be tempted by the latest release from Renault, as the Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy is the fastest road car ever built by the French company.

This powerful hot hatch is capable of getting from 0 to 62 mph in exactly six seconds, on its way to a top speed of 158 mph.

In order to get as much of the 265 bhp on the road as possible, the car comes fitted with Formula 1-inspired Bridgestone tyres for greater traction, even in wet conditions.

Racing style is supplied by the 19-inch alloy wheels in gloss back with red rims, while the exterior paint design is Liquid Yellow with red Trophy decals.

On the inside, the Renaultsport 265 comes with Recaro racing seats and a Renaultsport Monitor on-board performance tracking system, ideal for motorsport enthusiasts, who will also appreciate the free access to all Renault 2012 track-days.

This exclusive model will be tricky to get your hands on however, as only 500 are being made and just 50 of them will make it to the UK.

The UK version of the Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy is priced at £27,820 on-the-road.
