Renault Megane Generation launched

Renault's popular small family hatchback the Megane now features another new trim level, thanks to the introduction of the Megane Generation.

The new five-door hatch comes as a replacement to the outgoing Extreme model and is available with either a petrol or a diesel engine.

Equipment coming as standard on the new model includes a radio and CD player that features four 15-watt speakers and an aux input, possibly suiting those with digital music players.

Driving aids include a speed limiter, cruise control and ESC, while other features include electric front windows and door mirrors, air conditioning and a hands-free key card.

Those keen to invest in the new motor may be wise to act quickly, as the manufacturer is currently running a price promotion for cash buyers as part of its Vive Le Summer campaign.

Earlier this month Renault unveiled its Wind roadster, which can also act as an everyday compact car.
