SEAT Alhambra lands MPV award

Spanish carmaker SEAT celebrated another industry award earlier this week after its Alhambra retained the Best MPV prize at the Auto Express New Car Awards.

For the second year in a row the model scooped the coveted gong and the class-leading seven seater has now bagged an impressive 11 industry accolades.

Steve Fowler, the magazine's editor-in-chief, was full of praise for the model, saying: "When it comes to moving families around, there is nothing that does it better than the Alhambra.

"It's good value and cheap to run, too. And what you don't expect from such a talented MPV, it's also really good to drive.  All-in-all, it's the ideal car for all the family."

The popular model was first launched in 2010 and has enjoyed both strong sales and industry recognition ever since.

This latest prize follows hot on the heels of the car picking up the Diesel Car magazine MPV of the Year prize, a title it has also held for the past two years.

What Car?, Fleet News, Fleet World, Car Buyer and Auto Express are just some of the leading motoring publications to have honoured the car.

With standard equipment on the model including 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control in three areas of the car, Bluetooth hands free and a cooled glove box, the car's £23,535 starting price means it also offers great value of money for UK motorists looking for new card deals.

The model will also appeal to drivers with one eye on the environment as SEAT has boasted CO2 emission figures ranging from 146 g/km to 178 g/km, while the fuel economy figures will tempt the cost-conscious motorist with figures ranging from 37.2 mpg to 50.4 mpg.

Other winners at the Auto Express Awards included the Ford Focus ST, Mazda CX-5 and the electric Vauxhall Ampera.
