Seat Alhambra wins What Car? award

Seat is celebrating after its Alhambra model was recognised at the 2011 What Car? awards.

The full-size seven-seater was named Best Multi-Purpose Vehicle at last night's ceremony (January 13th).

Judges were particularly impressed with the Seat Alhambra due to its spacious interior, well-designed features and comfortable drivability.

Available in S, SE and SE Lux trim levels, the car comes with a choice of supercharged petrol or diesel powertrains, both of which can be paired with six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

What Car? editor-in-chief Steve Fowler called the model "a brilliantly conceived people mover".

"However, it's the way the Alhambra drives that impressed us most, particularly its comfort and refinement, and that it feels like a small family car on the road," Mr Fowler added.

The MPV also includes fuel-saving stop/start and brake energy recovery systems, and can be purchased with half VAT until the end of March, Seat notes.

In other news, the company enjoyed its largest sales share ever in 2010, securing 1.62 per cent of the UK new car market.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800342702-ADNFCR
