The all-new Seat Alhambra multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) has secured the Best Large MPV accolade at the inaugural CarBuyer Awards.

Judges noted the vehicle's "clever" seven-seat interior and its large boot, as well as its "incredible" fuel efficiency and practical design.

The model was recently named MPV of the Year by What Car?, while it has also won a number of trophies on the continent.

CarBuyer editor Dan Strong stated: "The car is spacious and practical inside, and thanks to a range of Volkswagen-sourced engines, it's incredibly fuel-efficient.

"All diesel engines are equipped with Stop/Start systems, which cut the engine when the vehicle is stationary to save fuel."

The Seat Alhambra is available in S, SE and SE Lux trim levels and a choice of turbocharged petrol and diesel powertrains.

It debuted at the Geneva Motor Show this month and is available to motorists with six-speed manual transmission.

The model can achieve 47.1mpg on the combined cycle, emitting 158g/km of CO2. ADNFCR-3205-ID-800456690-ADNFCR
