Which? has named the Citroen C1 the most reliable car up to three years old.

The first generation Citroen C1 came top overall in the supermini category with the best reliability score of all the models surveyed.

The Which? Car survey is the UK's largest car reliability and satisfaction survery collating real ownership experiences from both Which? members and the general public, with 49,023 car owners commenting on 283 models.

Not one of the C1 owners surveyed reported any time off the road.

James Parfett, Citron UK's communications director, said: "The C1 has proved a very successful model, selling more than 780,000 worldwide since launching in 2005.

"It's brilliant to hear that owners continue to report a positive experience with their cars and we believe that the New C1 will continue to build on that reputation of providing reliable, accessible and enjoyable motoring."

The results come just in time for the new arrival Citroen C1, which is now available to buy.
