Mazda to release updated Mazda3

Mazda is set to release a new model in one of its most popular ranges.

The Mazda3 will be updated this winter to include a Euro 5 compliant 1.6-litre MZ-CD common-rail turbo diesel engine and six-speed manual transmission.

According to the manufacturer, the updated model achieves a 2.2 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and a 1.7 per cent reduction in emissions.

The car boasts a new fuel injection system and variable-geometry turbocharger, while its diesel particulate filter (DPF) system is now maintenance-free.

"The Mazda3 is among the safest vehicles in the C-segment and was awarded a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash testing during November 2009. Energy-absorbing foam in the front bumper beam enhances pedestrian protection," the company states.

It offers Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a Bose surround sound system and a CD player with MP3 capability.

Meanwhile, Madza last week (November 12th) unveiled the upgraded Mazda2 range, which includes two new models, one of which features automatic transmission.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800237956-ADNFCR
