MX-5 is most reliable sports car
The Mazda MX-5 is the most reliable new sports car in the UK, according to a Which? survey.
The magazine highlighted the car’s smooth steering and handling and low number of faults, saying there should be no annual repair costs for the first three years.
Mazda UK managing director Jeremy Thompson described the result as a “wonderful endorsement” of the brand, adding: “The iconic MX-5 is still winning friends more than two decades after its introduction ... earning the title ‘most popular roadster‘ in the Honest John Awards earlier this year.“
MX-5 models up to three years old achieved a reliability score of 97.4 per cent, with older versions scoring 91.1 per cent. The Mazda6, meanwhile, scored 97.2 per cent to come second in the estate category, with the Mazda2 the fifth most reliable supermini at 96.4 per cent.
More than 47,000 drivers participated in the Which? survey, with more than 57,000 cars involved.
