Peugeot named Green Fleet Manufacturer of the Year

Peugeot has been named Green Fleet Manufacturer of the Year at the Fleet News 2011 Awards.

A panel of industry experts and journalists chaired by former SMMT chief executive Christopher Macgowan noted the efforts the company has gone to to cut emissions across a number of its ranges, as well as introducing new low-carbon diesel options.

Speaking at the award ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, Simon Harris of Fleet News also highlighted that Peugeot has overseen the production of the world's first diesel electric hybrid.

Phil Robson, fleet director for Peugeot UK, said the firm is "absolutely delighted" to have won the award.

"It really is testament to the sustained effort that Peugeot has made over many years to refine its existing engine technology and to bring to market new, cleaner technologies that offer a genuine solution for everyday motoring," Mr Robson added.

Models that were particularly praised by judges included the 309, the 508 and the 3008 Hybrid4, set to be released in October this year.

Peugeot recently started taking orders for an exclusive limited edition 3008 Hybrid4 with emissions of just 99g/km.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800469550-ADNFCR
